Squinting through
The veil of traditions,
She saw
What the world
Never wanted
Her to see.
A realm
Full of
Possibilities,
Waiting for her
If only she
Breaks free.
Him first,
They always told her
To think.
Kept her aches aside
Found happiness
In his glee.
Never thought
That she
Was someone.
Could be
More than a wife or
A mother of three.
But now
That she knows
She won’t
Let herself
Bend
Her knee.
She wants
To be
Someone,
And not
Just
Somebody’s,
To break through
The chains
Of false
Emotions and customs
And be what she
Wants to be.

I had written initially written this poem keeping the Indian woman in mind; my mother especially.
But somehow I feel all women around the world can relate to it.

Absolutely! And it is time for us women to stand up for our rights, for we are living in tbe time of the rising of the divine feminine. And we are going to play such an important role in transforming our world, for we are the caretakers, the nurturing ones.

We aren’t from Venus. We are the soul of Earth itself.

I agree, and the Earth is also feminine, our Mother. Knowing this connection and honoring it is so healing.

It’s never an easy thing breaking away from the norm, especially when it is backed by custom and tradition. “She” is a strong woman I’ll say. ππ
